Triplets, Quiet Barns, and Big Checks: Steve Jaeger’s AHV Experience
At United Vision Dairy, innovation and animal health go hand in hand. Since Steve Jaeger took over as manager in 2018, the farm has expanded its herd, improved milk production, and embraced new technologies to enhance cow health and longevity. One of the most impactful changes? The adoption of AHV’s natural animal health solutions.
Steve’s journey with AHV began through a conversation with Matt, the local AHV representative. Having worked with Matt before, Steve was open to exploring AHV’s product line. The first product he tried was the AHV Metri Bolus, and the results were immediate and impressive.
“We give every fresh cow the AHV Metri Bolus—even cows with twins or triplets. They calve and clean on their own, which I’ve never seen before,” Steve shared.
This improvement in post-calving health has led to better cycling and breeding outcomes. United Vision Dairy now maintains a pregnancy rate of 61–62%, well above the industry average.

Longevity and New Revenue Streams
Improved cow health has translated into longer lifespans and new business opportunities. Over the past six months, United Vision Dairy has sold 70 dairy animals at premium prices.
“We’ve always been the ones cutting the check, not collecting it,” Steve said, reflecting on the farm’s new revenue stream.
A Remarkable Case: Triplets and Profit
One standout story is Cow 10 391, who delivered triplet heifer calves and started her lactation with a $3,045 check from calf sales alone. She’s now producing over 100 pounds of milk daily and is ready to be bred again.
“If every cow did that, the calf check would be bigger than the milk check,” Steve joked.
Dry Cow Management with AHV StopLac
In May, United Vision Dairy began using AHV StopLac for dry cow management. The results were dramatic: cows were calmer, more comfortable, and showed minimal udder pressure post-dry off.
“The barn used to be noisy with cows screaming. Now, it’s quiet. The product is doing exactly what it’s supposed to,” Steve said.
Natural Solutions for Inflammation
Steve also highlighted the effectiveness of AHV Aspi (Ease) Bolus in treating inflammation, especially in pregnant cows. One cow, after a traumatic accident, recovered quickly thanks to the natural anti-inflammatory properties of AHV Aspi.
“There’s nothing else I could have given her. AHV Aspi made a huge difference,” Steve explained.
A Commitment to Antibiotic-Free Farming
Steve is passionate about reducing antibiotic use in dairy farming. With personal and family allergies to penicillin, he values AHV’s natural approach.
“We’re producing food for the world. We want to do it as cleanly and safely as possible,” he emphasized.
Trusted by Farmers and Vets
Steve’s success with AHV products has sparked interest among local veterinarians and fellow farmers. He regularly shares his experiences and encourages others to explore AHV’s natural solutions.
Conclusion
United Vision Dairy’s partnership with AHV showcases how natural, science-backed solutions can transform dairy farming. From improved cow health and breeding success to new revenue opportunities and reduced antibiotic use, AHV is helping farmers like Steve Jaeger build a more sustainable and profitable future
